Madhya Pradesh, a large state in central India, retains landmarks from eras throughout Indian history. Begun in the 10th century, its Hindu and Jain temples at Khajuraho are renowned for their carvings of erotic scenes, most prominently Kandariya Mahadeva, a temple with more than 800 sculptures. The eastern Bandhavgarh and Kanha national parks, noted Bengal tiger sanctuaries, offer guided safaris.

2. Capital City of Madhya Pradesh, Initially, After independence nagpur was the capital of madhya pradesh. In 1956, state was recognised and Bhopal became its capital.

3. Shining bright like a diamond, Madhya pradesh has the largest reserve of diamonds in india. The geological survey of India (GSI) has found huge deposit of graphite in Betul district of Madhya Pradesh giving a shot in the arm to the state government for offering opportunity to investors. Chief secretary Anthony De Sa told a packed gathering of investors at Global Investors Summit that the GSI has conducted exploration in the state and found 11 million metric ton deposit of graphite in Betul districts.

6. Smoky Waterfall, The Dhuandhar Falls are located on Narmada River in Bhedaghat and are 30 meters high. The Narmada River, making its way through the world-famous Marble Rocks, narrows down and then plunges in a waterfall known as Dhuandhaar. The plunge, which creates a bouncing mass of mist, is so powerful that its roar is heard from a far distance.


7. Hub of Trains, It is a major railway junction of India and main railway station of Bhopal, the capital of the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. This station also serves as a connecting point for various pilgrims from Asia to visit the Stupa of Sanchi, an important Buddhist stupa, which is about 40 kilometres (25 mi) from this station.

8. The Jungle Book is a collection of stories by the English author Rudyard Kipling. Most of the characters are animals such as Shere Khan the tiger and Baloo the bear, though a principal character is the boy or “man-cub” Mowgli, who is raised in the jungle by wolves. The stories are set in a forest in India; one place mentioned repeatedly is “Seonee” Seoni, in the central state of Madhya Pradesh.

12. The Monkey Jumping Valley, Bhedaghat  is a town and a nagar panchayat in Jabalpur district in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. It is situated by the side of river Narmada and is approximately 20 km from Jabalpur city. Its most famous sights are the Dhuandhar Falls, Marble Rocks, and the Chaunsath Yogini temple. The temple is one of the four major extant temples containing carvings of sixty four yogini, female yoga mystics. It was built in the 10th century under the Kalachuris. It commands a view of the whole area around and of the river flowing through the marble rocks.

13. 3000Years Old Rock Painting, Some of the Bhimbetka rock shelters feature prehistoric cave paintings and the earliest are about 3000 years old. These cave paintings show themes such as animals, early evidence of dance and hunting. The Bhimbetka site has the oldest known rock art in the Indian subcontinent, as well as is one of the largest prehistoric complexes.

Art of Flexibility, Mallakhamb is a traditional sport, originating from the Indian subcontinent, in which a gymnast performs aerial yoga postures and wrestling grips in concert with a vertical stationary or hanging wooden pole, cane, or hanging rope. The word Mallakhamb also refers to the pole used in the sport. The pole is usually made from Seesham (Indian Rosewood) polished with castor oil. Three popular versions of Mallakhamba are practiced using a sheesham pole, cane, or rope.

15. No sign of beach, Madhya Pradesh literally means “Central Province”, and is located in the geographic heart of India, between latitude 21.2°N-26.87°N and longitude 74°59′-82°06′ E. The state straddles the Narmada River, which runs east and west between the Vindhya and Satpura ranges; these ranges and the Narmada are the traditional boundary between the north and south of India. The highest point in Madhya Pradesh is Dhupgarh, with an elevation of 1,350 m (4,429 ft).

23. Bandhavgarh is home to some of the exotic wildlife creatures that are difficult to spot in other parts of India. The most famous ones are white tigers besides for the wide variety of birds, mammals, butterflies, and reptiles. Bandhavgarh had also been the hunting ground for the ancient Kings. Bandhavgarh has also mythological significance as it is believed that the ancient Bandhavgarh Fort was gifted by Lord Rama to his younger brother Lakshmana.
